Navigating Life's Detours

Hey there! It's been a minute, hasn't it?

Life took me on a whirlwind ride, and before I knew it, our little corner of the internet was left gathering dust like a forgotten library book.

I got sucked into this vicious cycle, lost in the whirlwind of days passing by. As I sit here typing, it's hard to wrap my head around the fact that this space has been silent for so long. But I'm hopeful. Hopeful that things will pick up again, that this place will once more buzz with life and activity.

Have you ever reached a point where you almost forgot who you are? Life can throw so much at us, demand so much from us, that it's easy to lose sight of ourselves in the chaos.

The Journey of Self-Rediscovery

I'll be honest, finding my way back here was tough. It seemed distant and unfamiliar. I never thought I'd have to push a part of me aside to attend to life's demands. And for a while, it felt like there was nothing left in the well, like I had nothing of value to offer. Constantly comparing myself to others only deepened that feeling (P.S. I had to check the food on the stove before it burnt! I'm back, though—LOL).

So where was I? Ah, right. I was talking about feeling empty, feeling like I had nothing to offer. But then, for reasons known only to God, the beginning of this year felt different. I felt full to bursting, overflowing with something I needed to share, even if it didn't feel like much. And so, I decided to share it anyway. You might ask what got me here after such a long time. To be honest, it has been a combination of many things; from Christian conferences to long conversations with friends and mentors. I decided I wanted to launch out again and resuscitate the 'little' that was left.

Lessons Learned Along the Way

I stumbled upon a vlog online that hit me hard—emotionally first, of course—before inspiring me to take action in my own life. And here I am, rusty at writing but determined to share this journey with you. If you're reading this, I want you to know that it's okay to get lost sometimes. The important thing is to find people and resources that resonate with you, that can help guide you back to yourself.

It's also okay to take a break from all the crazy. You are doing yourself a disservice if you keep going regardless of the wounds you pick up along the way. Pause. Take care of yourself. Heal. Whichever way you decide to, just take a break. One, two days off by yourself is a good start. Recharge, journal, pray, dance, crotchet, travel, sleep...whatever makes you feel relaxed. Then pick life up again. Show up however you need to. This time, you'll be doing that as a refreshed version of yourself.

Whatever season of life you are in, there's always someone who needs you because they will soon be in your shoes. They'll definitely be needing you to guide them and show them how you navigated your way through. Although it can be frustrating many times, don't forget you are in that position so you can show somebody else the light. Don't underestimate the down times because they are for a bigger purpose.

Believe it or not, you have the capacity to withstand these tough places. God will not give you something that He does not think you can handle.

Embracing the Journey Ahead

And a word of caution: comparison is a dream killer. It's a surefire way to self-sabotage. So don't do it. Be mindful of what you consume, because it shapes your perspective and can either propel you forward or hold you back from living out your dreams.

So, here's to finding our way back, to dusting off the cobwebs, and to embracing the journey ahead. Thanks for being here with me. Let's do this!
