PUSH AGAIN
I was having a conversation with someone recently and I was asked what my childhood dream was. Somehow, I had never really thought of that question. I didn't realise how much life and adulthood had buried those dreams! It was somewhat of a wake-up call for me.
How much of us has been lost, buried in our life obligations? How many of us have buried our dreams, or pushed them aside just to attend to life and living, denying and short changing ourselves! We go into full airplane mode and just keep going without taking a step back to think and revaluate our identities and what makes us unique. We just go with the flow and what is realistic, putting who we are on hold.
To be honest, an environment that seems to stifle people's identities does not make things any easier but nevertheless, we should not let that stop us from moving in the direction of what we believe is our core. Even if you have to 'make-do' with what you have, keep your eyes open and work towards your dreams. Don't Starve your gifts, make time for them.
As you go along the way, you will find that the spring in your steps will return...the excitement in your eyes will come back and life in itself will just start to come alive! Without you even realising. And note this, IT IS NOT TOO LATE! I know sometimes it feels helplessness is a familiar thing to your mind and so you just coast and endure life. Not at all! Not on YOUR watch, why? Because You are responsible for YOU! You are the prophet over your own life. You determine how things play out in your life.
So get up again and dust those dreams. The world is waiting.
